Oswego Co. men accused of beating man, leaving him unconscious

Two Oswego County men are facing charges in a fight that left a man unconscious.

It happened June 17th in the Town of Hannibal.

25-year-old Matthew Slocum, of Woodland Dr. Bldg. 28 in Fulton, is charged with assault and criminal obstruction of breathing.

Oswego County Sheriff's deputies say he put the man in a head lock, applying pressure and then punching him in the head and throwing him to the ground where he struck his head on a cement slab, causing a concussion.

24-year-old Brandon Collins, of 42 East 4th St. in Oswego, is charged with assault and strangulation.

Investigators say he put his arms around the man's neck, causing him to go unconscious and punching him in the head.

Collins was sent to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail.

Slocum was arraigned in Hannibal Town Court and sent to the Oswego County Jail in lieu of $200 bail. He's due back in court on June 28th.
