Oswego County man charged in violent domestic incident
HASTINGS, N.Y. —
An Oswego County man was arrested following a physical domestic incident involving a 39-year-old female, according to State Police.
Michael P. Mulcahy III, 30, of Hastings, was charged with first degree rape, a class "B" felony, grand larceny in the fourth degree, criminal obstruction of breathing, menacing in the second degree, unlawful imprisonment in the second degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree.
Police say Mulcahy is accused of holding a woman to the ground, striking her several times with a belt and threatening to kill her with a knife at a residence on Rust Memorial Road in the Town of Hastings. He is also accused of forcing the woman to have sexual intercourse.
Mulcahy was arraigned in the Town of Hastings Court and was then remanded to the Oswego County Correctional Facility without bail, police said.
The woman victim is being assisted by the New York State Police Crime Victim Services program.
