Oswego robotics team is fundraising to go to national championship

The NY state champion VEX Robotics Team, from Oswego, is fundraising to go the National competition in California in April

The Oswego high schoolers who want to represent NY at the VEX Robotics Championship in California this spring have proven they can build and operate a robot. Now they're working at fundraising.

The Freezing Code 9282 team won the Northern NY Championships for the Vex Toss Up competition at OCC last month, with a robot that can pick up a ball and hike it up to a bar. The team demonstrated it on Saturday's Weekend Today in Central New York.

Now, they're raising money for the team to show its talents in Anaheim in April.

Team members are selling pizzas and bumper stickers, and are looking for support from companies and area residents as they fund the team's trip.

They need $6,000 by March 14th to make the trip.
