Phoenix Central School District issued lockout after suspicious phone call

The Phoenix Central School District was placed under a lockout while they evaluated a suspicious phone call.

Superintendent Judy Belfield says the district received information around 12:00 p.m. from law enforcement about a concerned in the surrounding area. The district issued a lockout for the three buildings as a precaution.

Belfield says a lockout is issued for low level threats. During a lockout, students are kept inside the building and no one is allowed to enter.

She says that for high threat levels and immediate danger, a lockdown would be issued.
