Phoenix man killed in accident at Novelis plant

A 31-year-old Phoenix man is dead after an accident at the Novelis Corporation plant in the Town of Scriba that happened on Monday.

The accident that killed Steven Cooper happened just after noon in the recycling area of the plant, according to Oswego County Sheriffâ??s Deputies. Cooper was a contractor who had worked at the plant for several years.

Novelis processes rolled aluminum for use in soda cans, among many other household and industrial items.

The accident is under investigation.
