Police arrest suspected shooter after following his tracks

yracuse Police have made an arrest after shots were fired late Thursday night on the 200 block of Milton Ave.

At around 11:30 Tuesday night, a woman called 911 and reported that her estranged husband showed up at her home and asked to spend the night. The woman refused, prompting her husband to return to his car and grab a rifle. Police say he fired one shot, but nobody was injured. The man fled the scene.

The vehicle crashed on the 400 block of Seymour Street, but was unoccupied when police discovered it. They followed footprints to Gifford Street, where they found the driver, Victor Rodriguez of 444 Gifford Street. Police recovered the rifle and determined that Rodriguez was the shooter. He was charged with Reckless endangerment, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal mischief.
