An Onondaga County Sheriff's Deputy's K-9 dog tracked a burglary suspect's scent to Woodlawn Cemetery in Syracuse, where deputies found the man lying on a mausoleum floor.
20-year-old Austin Cavender, of Onondaga, is accused of breaking into the Sunoco Convenience Store on Court Street in the Town of Salina and stealing tobacco products.
Investigators say that around 12:30 a.m., Cavender threw a cement block through the front glass door. Sheriff's deputies and K-9 "Inga" tracked his scent to Woodlawn Cemetery, on Grant Boulevard in Syracuse. He was arrested around 2:15 a.m. .
Cavender was arraigned on burglary, criminal mischief and petit larceny charges.
