Police: Drugs, cash found in man's car after trespassing incident in Syracuse
SYRACUSE, N.Y. —
Syracuse Police say a man is facing drug charges after officers investigated a trespassing complaint Wednesday evening.
Police say officers were sent to the 100 block of Croly Street for a trespassing complaint at 5:14 p.m. When the officers arrived they saw a man, identified as 31-year-old Willie Word of Syracuse, trespassing at a home in the area, according to police.
Police said Word was seen leaving the area in a Buick Enclave. A traffic stop followed, during which Word allegedly fought with police as they tried to take him into custody. Inside the vehicle police found 59 grams of heroin, 19 grams of cocaine and $1,210 in cash.
Word faces several drug charges, a charge of Criminal Trespass and Resisting Arrest.
Word was taken to the Onondaga County Justice Center to await arraignment, according to police.
