Police identify man stabbed at Syracuse downtown intersection

Police have identified the man who was stabbed Friday afternoon around 1:00 at the downtown intersection of E. Fayette Street and S. Salina Street.

Police say Larry McCraney, 27, of Syracuse, NY was stabbed multiple times by three or four black male suspects in their 20's, each wearing a baseball cap.

McCraney was taken to Upstate University Hospital in extremely critical condition and underwent emergency sugery, and now remains in critical condition.

Police have recieved information that some witnesses may have been taping the attack with cell phone cameras, and police say that anyone who witnessed the attack or captured it on video is asked to contact Syracuse Police at 442-5222. All calls will be kepy strictly confidential.
