Police investigate attempted robbery at Shop City M&T Bank

Syracuse police are looking for the suspect who tried to rob the M&T Bank at Shop City Friday afternoon.
Police say the call came in around 2:45 p.m. The suspect entered the bank, pointed a handgun at the teller and demanded money. According to police, the suspect then tried to scale the counter, but fell and dropped the gun. A customer at the bank then tried to stop the suspect, but he ran off without any money.
The customer only suffered a minor injury.
Police say it was discovered that the suspect's gun was really a toy gun. The suspect is described as a 5'6" to 5'7" male with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a mask, dark clothing and large glasses.
