Police investigate bank robbery in downtown Syracuse
*Update*--Syracuse Police have arrested 34-year-old Leonard Stephens of Canastota in connection with the robbery at M&T Bank in Syracuse.
Detectives immediately got calls from citizens identifying Stephens. He was arrested at a motel on State Fair Boulevard in Lakeland. He was charged with robbery.
The Syracuse Police Department is currently investigating a Bank Robbery that occurred on Wednesday January 30, 2013 at 8:52am at the M&T bank located at 101 South Salina St.
The suspect entered the bank from South Salina St and passed a threatening note to the teller demanding money. He fled out the front door on to South Salina St.
The suspect is described as a heavy set black, male wearing a tan Carhart work coat, dark pants and white shoes. Photos of the suspect will follow this press release. There were no injuries during this robbery and no weapon was displayed.
