Police in a central New York city are investigating their second fatal shooting this week.
Rome Police responding to a report of shots fired on Stevens Street late Thursday night found a wounded man lying in the road.
Upon arriving, the officers say that they found the man unresponsive, lying in the roadway and with a gunshot injury.
Rescue units performed medical treatment on the victim but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending the notification of his family.

Rome Police say that they are expecting to release more information on this incident on Friday afternoon.
On Tuesday, 50-year-old Charles Digristine was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds at his residence in Rome, 35 miles east of Syracuse. That case also remains under investigation.
