State Police in rural Saratoga County have found what they believe are human remains, and have begun an investigation into whether the bones could belong to missing child Sara Anne Wood.

The skull appears to be that of a 10 to 12 year old child. According to Trooper Jim Simpson of the New York State Police, investigators will try to determine if this has anything to do with other outstanding missing children cases, including Wood TMs.

Police say that DNA testing on the remains will take about six weeks.

Right now there is no known connection to any open missing child case.

Sara Anne Wood disappeared while riding her bicycle in Frankfort, Herkimer County on August 18, 1993. Louis Lent, Jr. was convicted in 1996 of abducting and murdering Wood, but her body was never found. Lent is currently in prison for Wood TMs murder, among other crimes.
