Police look for answers after Saturday night shooting

Syracuse Police are investigating a shooting that last night on that 500 block of Bellevue Avenue near Rich Street.

27-year-old Anthony Hopper of Syracuse was shot twice once in the leg and once in the hand just before 10 pm. Hopper provided very little information with the exception that he was walking with three other males when he heard six shots and felt pain in his left leg. His injuries were not life threatening and he was taken to Upstate University Hospital for treatment.

Officers located multiple shell casings on Bellevue Ave. Witnesses reported that the shots were fired from an older model black Jeep Cherokee.

This is the second South Side shooting this weekend, with a 54-year-old man show on nearby Hudson Street Saturday morning.
