Victim of deadly West Side shooting identified; police searching for leads
SYRACUSE, N.Y. —
Syracuse Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened on Syracuse's West Side late Sunday night.
Police say it happened just after 11 p.m. on the 300 block of Richmond Avenue. Responding officers found a 21-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.
Personnel from AMR Ambulance also responded to the scene and tried to provide treatment, but the victim succumbed to his injuries shortly after. The victim has been identified as Khalil Howard of Syracuse.
Detectives say they are actively investigating the shooting, but there is no suspect information available at this time.
