Police make arrest in Lodi Street homicide, still looking for another suspect

Syracuse Police have made an arrest in the first homicide of 2014.

27-year-old Alfred Thomas was charged with second degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon in Tuesday's murder on Lodi Street in Syracuse. Police say 23-year-old Martin Paulk of Syracuse was shot multiple times and managed to run from the scene of the crime before he collapsed. He was pronounced dead at Upstate University Hospital.

Police say this is still an active investigation, and detectives are still working to identify and arrest a second suspect. Anyone with information on this homicide is asked to contact the Syracuse Police at 315-442-5222. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
