Syracuse Police have charged a man with murder in the Sabine Street
shooting over the weekend
Police say 29-year-old Efrain Santos, of 120 Sabine Street in Syracuse, has been charged with murder in the second degree in connection with the Sunday shooting and killing of 21-year-old Andre Rosario-Claudio.
Claudio was shot in the 100 block of Sabine Street Sunday afternoon. He was in extreme critical condition before passing away at Upstate University Hospital.
Officials say his brother, 20-year-old Edgardo Rossario-Claudio, was also shot on Sabine Street. Police say the younger brother is expected to recover.
Santos is being held in the Onondaga County Jail and was arraigned in Syracuse City Court Tuesday morning. An automatic not guilty plea was enter on his behalf. He is being held with out bail and a
preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday.
No motive for the shooting has been released.
