Police: Man arrested for 2017 assault, thefts in DeWitt
TOWN OF DEWITT, N.Y. —
DeWitt Police say a man has been arrested on warrants for three separate incidents over several months in 2017.
Police say the first happened on Caton Drive in DeWitt on August 27. The suspect, Corey Murdock, is accused of punching a woman in the face repeatedly, causing "serious physical injury," and taking her cellphone. Police say the victim was hospitalized as a result.
The second incident happened on Springfield Road on November 6; according to police, Murdock allegedly took a female victim's property and put it in a bucket of bleach. He then allegedly filled a kitchen sink with water and put other items owned by the victim in the sink. As he left the apartment, Murdock allegedly punched a hole in a wall and knocked over the bleach water on to the victim's floor.
Police say the third incident happened on Caton Drive again on December 9. It's alleged Murdock stole the victim's keys, cell phone and about $120 in cash.
Murdock was charged with assault, grand larceny and petit larceny for the first incident; criminal mischief for the second incident; and petit larceny for the third incident.
Police said between the three incidents there were two victims.
Murdock was arraigned in Centralized Arraignment Court and sent to the Onondaga County Justice Center without bail, according to police.
