Police remind drivers to take valuables out of cars after 18 break-ins last week

After 18 car break-ins last week, Syracuse police are reminding drivers not to leave valuable items in plain sight when parking or leaving a vehicle unattended.

Police say there were 18 reported larcenies from vehicles in the last week in the City of Syracuse.

Electronics and other valuables left in the unattended vehicles were the items stolen, according to police. Officers believe the number of thefts will decrease if people don't leave valuables in their vehicles, or at least keep them out of sight from anyone walking by.
