Police searching for Solvay Bank robber

Suspect in Solvay Bank robbery

Village of Solvay Police are investigating a robbery at the Solvay Bank in Geddes Plaza that happened at about 9am on Thursday.

Police say the suspect handed the clerk a note saying he had a gun and demanded money, but he never showed a weapon.

The suspect the left the bank at with an unknown amount of cash and was last seen heading south on Charles Avenue toward West Genesee Street.

Police describe the suspect as being a black man, about 5â?? 7â?? tall, about 30 years old and was last seen wearing a dark winter cap, dark glasses with white or silver trim, dreadlocked hair, a gray hooded sweatshirt with accented stripes on the pockets, and jeans. Police say he also had a mustache or goatee.
