Police were looking the ex-husband of a Pittsburgh-area woman in the fatal shooting of her live-in boyfriend last month. Police say the man is known to have family in the Syracuse, N.Y. area, which prompted a temporarily lockdown of three schools in Liverpool on Thursday.
Allegheny County police say Wednesday they have charged 27-year-old David Edick with criminal homicide and burglary in the Aug. 31 incident.
That's when police say Edick broke into his ex-wife's apartment and shot Ryan Beal after fighting with the victim. Police believe Beal was shot about midnight though his body wasn't found until 6 a.m. by neighbors.
Police issued an arrest warrant because they say they haven't been able to find Edick. They say he may have left Pennsylvania and is known to have family in the Syracuse, N.Y. area.
Edick was being sought by the U.S. Marshal's Western PA Fugitive Task Force.
Onondaga County Sheriff??s Office says he was arrested near Pittsburgh around 3:00 a.m. Thursday.
