Police shoot suspect after chase through Geneva

Authorities have charged two men and are still searching for two others after a shooting and a vehicle pursuit in western New York.

Police tell local media they got a report of gunshots around 3 p.m. Sunday in the city of Geneva, 40 miles southeast of Rochester.

Police spotted a pickup truck reported to have been at the scene, but the driver sped away. Officers started a pursuit that ended on Route 96, where the truck crashed in the neighboring town of Phelps.

Four men in the truck fled on foot. Officials say a 26-year-old Geneva man pointed a gun at officers and was shot in the arm. A 19-year-old Geneva man later surrendered.

Both have been charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

The two other suspects remain at large Monday afternoon.
