Police: Relative of Fitch Street fire charged in Syracuse attack, robbery

Syracuse Police are investigating a robbery that occurred over the weekend on the city's north side.

According to Syracuse Police, officers responded to a robbery investigation that occurred around 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of N. Salina Street.

The victim reported that he had been physically attacked by two acquaintances, Luis Rosa, 25, and Minnie Dubois, 25, both of 1127 Bellevue Ave.

The victim told police he dropped his cell phone and car keys during the attack and he saw Dubois taking his property. Police said the victim tried to get the items back, but Dubois pulled out a knife and threatened him with it.

Rosa then smashed the victim's cell phone on the ground before he and Dubois got into a vehicle and drove away.

Police located Rosa and Dubois at their residence. They were taken into custody without incident.

Rosa was arrested and charged with robbery in the second degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree and harassment in the second degree.

Dubois was arrested and charged with robbery in the first degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree and harassment in the second degree.

Both were lodged at the Onondaga County Justice Center pending their arraignment.

Minnie Dubois is related to Charles Dubois, the man accused of starting the fire that killed 4 of his family members in Syracuse on Thursday, April 5th, 2018.
