A Syracuse woman is facing charges after police say she stabbed a man several times.
Officers were called to 1325 Lemoyne Avenue on Thursday for a reported stabbing. When they arrived, officers were met by the victim, 30-year-old John Woodward, who had been stabbed in the back and on the arms several times.
Officers then met the suspect, 54-year-old Lynne Pitcher, who came out of the house still holding the knife. She told officers that she hoped the victim died from his injuries.
The investigation showed that Pitcher intervened in a dispute between Woodward and his roommate, who is Pitcherâ??s son. When the roommates started fighting, Pitcher grabbed a knife and stabbed Woodward repeatedly.
Officers took Pitcher into custody without incident. The victim was taken to University Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Pitcher is charged with second degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
