Police warn neighbors of coyote sighting in Cicero

Coyotes spotted behind 6505 South Bay Road in Cicero

The Cicero Police Department is warning neighbors after a coyote sighting on South Bay Road.

Earlier Thursday morning, Ericka Swank spotted three coyotes in her backyard at 6505 South Bay Road as she was letting her dogs out.

Cicero Police contacted the Department of Environmental Conservation. Officers stress that coyotes are dangerous wild animals, and pose specific dangers to pets. Illegally feeding them will encourage them to come back to the same area.

Neighbors in Cicero say they have spotted the coyotes in the area for more than a year.

Cicero Police are working on a plan to remove the animals. Neighbors are encouraged to call 911 if any coyotes are spotted.
