Power coming back on for thousands on Syracuse's southside

Power is coming back on as of 10:20 p.m. for thousands of National Grid customers on Syracuse's southside and in the valley section. National Grid reports 4,086 customers affected by the outage. Traffic lights that had been dark at the intersection of East Colvin and South Salina Streets are now back on.

The area of greatest impact appeared to be from East and West Colvin Streets on the northern end, to Valley Drive on the western end. The trouble zone extended both east and west of I-81. On its website, National Grid estimates the power restoration time at 11:30 p.m. Monday.
