A record crowd of more than 8,000 people took on the Corporate Challenge in Liverpool Tuesday night.
The 32nd annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge was held at Onondaga Lake Park in Liverpool. A record capacity crowd of 8,564 Syracuse-area runners and walkers from 316 companies participated in the 3.5 mile run to celebrate healthy living and workplace camaraderie.
This was the largest number of entrants and companies in Syracuse Corporate Challenge history.
The annual event has been held in Liverpool since 1981. It started with a field of 600 participants from 70 companies. CNYCentral's team included reporter Brandon Roth and meteorologists Peter Hall and Mike Brookins along with director Chris Hahn and editor Tom Cunningham.
J.P. Morgan will make a donation on behalf of all the participants to Hillside Work-Scholarship Connection.
It is a nationally recognized youth-development program that for nearly three decades has helped at-risk students stay in school and successfully graduate while providing invaluable part-time work experience and job skills to help prepare them for life after graduation.
