Red Cross helps 18 people after roof collapse at Syracuse apartment building

The Red Cross assisted 18 tenants from a Seeley Road apartment building after the building suffered extensive water damage from a roof cave-in.

The roof of the apartment caved in after Monday nightâ??s heavy rain. Five of the six apartment complexes were occupied when the Red Cross arrived at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The Red Cross gave food to the 10 adults and eight children living in the apartment, and also provided lodging for three of the families. All of the tenants grabbed clothing and personal items before leaving the building.

The Red Cross also provided food and lodging to two adults who had to leave their Scotland Road home in DeWitt after the foundation of the house collapsed into the basement.
