Refugee tutoring program looking for summer volunteers

Summer project? teach computer and english basics to refugees in the Syracuse area

JobsPlus is putting out a volunteer call to action, looking for help in teaching basic skills to refugeers new to Central New York.

Wendy Carl Isome is coordinating the volunteer recruitment. She's looking for people over 17 years old to donate two hours a week for six weeks in July and August, to teach basic English and computer skills.

One morning Tutor Training sessions are Wednesday, June 19th or Tuesday June 25th. Orientation, and matching with students, will happend Friday morning, June 28th (attendance not mandatory for tutors) with classes to be set at the tutors' convenience in one of three JobsPlus sites in the area.
