Regional Cultural Plan in the works, public input welcome

CNY Arts is doing a regional cultural plan. Step one: take a survey to give them some direction (and maybe get a gift card!)

CNY Arts, formerly the Cultural Resources Council, is developing a coordinated plan to support and promote the area's culture, arts, history and heritage resources, and right now the project, called Engage CNY, is looking for people to fill out a survey on what's expected and wanted.

Stephen Butler, CNY Arts Executive Director, says the effort, a NY State mandate, covers Cortland, Herkimer, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga and Oswego Counties.

The survey phase goes til October 15th (the deadline's been extended), and arts groups and artists are also being interviewed. (you can win a gift card for participating!)

Next, the information will be compiled by December, with drafts made public in January.

The master plan, aimed at helping arts groups and getting more of the public to see/hear/do what's available, should be done in March of 2014.

The CNY Arts website already lists events in the area on its calendar.
