Fresh off their win at Cincinnati, the Syracuse University men's basketball team may be getting a new look on Wednesday.
According to Uni Watch, "Nike will unveil new men's and women's basketball uniforms - all of them sweatbacks, I think - for Arizona, Baylor, Connecticut, Duke, Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Syracuse tomorrow morning."
Uni Watch describes a sweatback as a college basketball jersey with a sublimated watermark on the back which tends to look like sweat stain when the jersey is worn in a game.
The Orange unveiled new uniforms last year. Designed by Nike, they were said to utilize less material and feel lighter and more breathable. The new jerseys featured silhouettes of familiar University landmarks on the back like the Dome, Carnegie Library and the Hall of Languages. The University's founding year of 1870 was also included in the design.
SU beat Cincinnati 60-53 Monday night, to improve their record to 21-1 on the season. They play again Saturday against West Virginia at the Carrier Dome.
We have a call out to SU Athletics to confirm the report. Stay tuned for updates.
