Report: Syracuse neighbors among most likely to be affected by GOP healthcare bill
SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- The House Republican plan to replace the Affordable Care Act could hurt the average American's wallet.
A new report by consumer site WalletHub finds the average health insurance premium would be raised by 15 to 20% under the Republican health care proposal.
This would affect cities nationwide, but Syracuse neighbors will be some of the most affected.
In Syracuse, the average tax subsidy under the GOP plan is $4,000. That is compared to more than $10,000 in tax relief under Obamacare, which means more than $6,000 in extra costs.
