Revolutions celebrates ribbon cutting ahead of grand opening on Sunday

Revolutions held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday evening ahead of its grand opening on Sunday. The entertainment venue features 24 boutique bowling lanes, a 100-seat sports amphitheater, restaurant, arcade, two bars, and a Las Vegas-style showroom for more than 250 guests.

"I almost think you feel as though you're on a cruise ship because there are so many different options where you can just walk a few feet and before you know it, you're at the [bowling] allies, you're in the arcade," said General Manager Dave Sychtysz. "There are so many options."

Shoppers in Destiny USA think Revolutions is a welcome addition to the mall's canyon area.

"You know, a little rock 'n roll with some bowling, I think that that'll get some folks out," said Alexandra Plevritis of Syracuse. "And I definitely think that we have the venue to do it in. We have a great mall."

Revolutions hopes to be the venue for a variety of events, including corporate functions and children's birthday parties. It will also cater to the nightlife crowd on weekends and to sports fans on gamedays.

The bowling alley is also attractive to parents for the winter months. "I think it's a good idea," said mom Beth Britton. "It gives people something else to do in this area, especially in the winter when there's not a whole lot to do."

"Upstate New York is always cold in the winter, and you're looking for something great to do inside," said mom Rochelle Jensen. "So a couple extra dollars, I wouldn't mind taking my kids to go do something instead of keeping them in the house. So I think it's good."

Revolutions is located on the third floor of Destiny USA.
