There is a $1000 reward for information in the case involving the abandonment of a handicapped and pregnant dog found in someone's yard in Cortlandville last month.
The Cortland Community SPCA says the dog, who it is calling "Little Lady," has three deformed feet. Because of this, the SPCA says she would not have been able to walk on hard surfaces to get to the Cortlandville lawn herself.
While nothing can be done to correct the deformity, Little Lady is undergoing treatment. Staff at the SPCA say she is "the sweetest dog imaginable," and they're committed to finding her a very special home.
Meanwhile, the New York State Humane Society has offered up a $1000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person, or people, responsible.
The homeowner immediately contacted authorities when the reddish-colored Kelpie mix showed up on their lawn.
If you can help, call the Humane Law Enforcement Department at (607) 753-9386.
