Water main break in downtown Syracuse shutters road, Centro bus hub
SYRACUSE, N.Y. —
Portions of East Adams Street are closed as Department of Public Works crews work to repair a water main break.
It happened at 2:49 A.M. Tuesday morning on East Adams Street between South Warren Street and South Salina Street.
That's not far from the Centro Hub, which has been forced to close as the repairs are made. Centro says despite the closure, its buses are still running on time.
DPW dispatchers say the pressure of the pipes caused a large hole to form in the middle of the road.
It is unclear what caused the water main break. As of late Tuesday morning, crews remained on the scene as they attempted to make repairs.
