Some travel advisories start up Monday in Central New York.
Bridge replacement work is being done in Cortland County. Southbound 1-81 will be down to one lane at the bridge carrying the highway over Preble Road in northern Cortland County. This restriction will continue for about four weeks, according to the NY State Department of Transportation.
Cars wider than 11 feet will be required to leave the highway at Exit 13 (Route 281 - Preble). Driver may have to deal with short delays in the area, especially during weekday afternoons. The northbound bridge over Preble Road was replaced in the fall of 2013.
Also starting up Monday, part of Rt. 174 in Marcellus will be closed for a sewer repair. Sewer lines under North Street (Route 174) between Mustang Hill Road and Paul Street will be repaired. This work will require that Route 174 be closed to all through traffic from April 21st to April 27th. Detours will be posted. People who live and work within the construction zone will be allowed in.
