Rochester man arrested for making terror threats against NYC Fire Department
State Police in Rochester arrested a man for making a terrorist threat from a hacked Facebook account.
The State Police Investigations Unit arrested 36-year-old Gary J. Battista for making a terrorist threat, computer trespass and criminal impersonation. Battista is accused of hacking a Facebook account, assuming that identity, and then making terror threats against New York City Fire Fighters.
The Facebook messages were tracked to Battistaâ??s home in the Town of Chili, Monroe County.
Police say additional arrests are pending.
Battista is being held in Monroe County Jail on $10,000 cash/$20,000 bond bail.
