Rome man facing DWAI charge after car flips in Thruway toll plaza
VERONA, N.Y. —
New York State Police say a Rome man is facing charges after flipping his vehicle at a Thruway toll plaza over the weekend.
Troopers say Charles Whitter rolled over his car at the toll plaza in Verona for exit 33 of the NYS Thruway. Whitter suffered minor facial lacerations in the crash, according to state police.
State police tell us Whitter is facing a felony charge of DWAI because of a DWI conviction within the last 10 years.
Whittier was issued tickets and released to a sober third party, troopers said.
