Rome police investigating death of 11-month-old

Right now Rome Police are investigating the death of an 11-month-old.
On Tuesday around 7:00 a.m., the Rome Police and Fire Departments and Amcare Ambulance responded to an address on River Street for a report of an unresponsive child.
The mother was trying to give CPR to the child, according to police. Police don't suspect any foul play.
The child was taken to Rome Hospital and she was pronounced dead, according to police.
The name of the child is not being released at this time. An autopsy will be conducted tonight at St. Elizabeth Hospital, according to Rome police.
Police expect to make more information available on Wednesday.
