Rome police investigating two homicides in one week

Rome police are investigating two separate homicides from earlier this week.

Thefirst victim was found Tuesday around 5:30am at 115 Lawrence Street. He's been identified as Charles Digristine, 50. Police say he was shot to death, but have made no arrests so far.

The second victim was found Thursday around 10:51pm lying in the road near Stevens Street. Police were responding to gunshots when they found the male victim, who's identity is being withheld until family members are notified.

Police believe the suspect in this case is a male of an unknown race and age, who was last seen wearing a dark colored hooded jacket. Police say the suspect was seen running from the scene, heading west towards North Madison Street. No arrests have been made so far.

Rome Police do not believe these two shootings were related, but they do believe the victims knew the suspects.
