Police in Rome are asking for the publicâ??s help in finding a man who pulled off a â??quick changeâ?? scam earlier this week.
Rome Police say around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday an unidentified male walked into the Walgreens on South James Street and tried to buy gum using a $50 bill. Police said the man then showed the clerk a $100 bill and claimed he was owed extra change. The clerk gave the change, then realized later what had happened.
Police say this is called a â??quick changeâ?? scam and are asking for help identifying the person seen in the attached photos. If you have any information youâ??re asked to call the Rome Police Department at (315) 339-7715 or visit www.romepd.com to send in an anonymous tip.
