Area firefighters were busy Saturday, with fires in Liverpool and Syracuse.
At about 1:30 am, four people were left homeless after a fire at their home on Glendale Avenue in Liverpool. The Red Cross was on hand to provide food and shelter for the three adults and one child who escaped the burning house.
It took firefighters about 20 minutes to get the fire under control.
One of the victims was taken to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
On Greenwood Place in Syracuse, not far from SU, an attic fire had crews busy.
Heavy smoke poured into the air as the firefighters worked. Two adults, two kids and the family dog made it out ok.
The cause of both fires are under investigation.
