Authorities say they resumed their search for 62-year-old Arthur Carney, of Rome, whose empty boat washed ashore on Delta Lake in Rome.
The Oneida County Sheriff's Office says a lakeside resident reported around 7:50 p.m. Tuesday that a pontoon boat had washed up on her property on Delta Lake.
Deputies say the Carney's family had last seen him earlier in the day.
Police and firefighters started a search that was called off around 11 p.m. because of darkness. The search is scheduled to resume Wednesday morning.
The Sheriff's Office asks anyone with information to contact them at 315-736-0141.
