Second suspect arrested in Sabine Street homicide

A second person has been charged with murder in connection to a homicide on Sabine Street last weekend.

Police say Andre Rosario-Claudio was fatally shot on Sunday, June 2, at 120 Sabine Street in Syracuse.

Police have charged a second suspect, 26-year-old Maximino Alvarez, with second degree murder. He was arraigned in Syracuse City Court on Sunday.

Police say Alvarez was identified as one of the suspects who fired shots during the assault on Rosario-Claudio and his brother, 20-year-old Edgardo Rossario-Claudio. Police say the younger brother is expected to recover.

Police previously arrested 29-year-old Efrain Santos, who was also charged with second degree murder.

No motive for the shooting has been released and police say t
he investigation is still active and ongoing.
