Senator Schumer introducing new background check legislation

On Sunday, Senator Charles Schumer announced he will be introducing legislation to close a legal loophole that stops children's organizations - like summer camps, Little Leagues and Boy Scouts - from accessing background checks on new employees or volunteers.

The senator says these organizations are only able to access a New York database, which does not include out-of-state crimes.

The new legislation would grant access to a more comprehensive FBI database.

Senator Schumer plans to introduce the legislation in the next few months.
