      Several area restaurants and eateries fail health inspections, others pass for the week of 8/10-8/16

      There are several new Onondaga County restaurants and eateries on the failed health inspection list for the week of 8/10-8/16, while others passed.

      -Plumbing not maintained sewer system not intact or functional; raw sewage noted on basement floor (establishment voluntarily closed).

      -Front and rear doors noted open without screens, allowing for the possible entrance of insects and/or rodents.

      La Piazza, 402 South Franklin Street, Syracuse

      -Mold noted on strawberries in preparation cooler and on produce in saut grill cooler (voluntarily discarded). Mold noted on sandwich rolls in chest cooler (voluntarily discarded approximated 100 rolls). Two raw chicken thighs wrapped in plastic noted in standing water at bottom of reach-in cooler (voluntarily discarded). One gallon skim milk stored in dairy cooler noted spoiled (voluntarily discarded).
