Tue, 20 Jul 2010 20:44:09 GMT — A local sheriff TMs office says it is investigating two burglaries which occurred over the past three weeks According to the Cayuga County Sheriff TMs Office, two businesses were burglarized recently in the Village of Cato. Police say sometime overnight on June 28 or June 29 unknown individuals forced their way into the Cato Diner located on North Street and stole some cash. In a second incident on July 15, deputies say they responded to a burglary alarm at 1:26 a.m. at Terry TMs Food Mart on East Main Street. There they discovered that the store had been forcibly entered. Police say the alarm apparently scared the burglars away, and no property has been reported stolen in that case. Police say they do not know if the two burglaries are related. Anyone with information about either of these investigations is asked to contact the Cayuga County Sheriff TMs Office at (315) 253-1132. Police also say anonymous tips may be left at www.cayugacrime.com.
