Shoreline search finds no trace of crashed Reaper drone

A search of Lake Ontario's eastern shore has failed to turn up any sign of a multi-million-dollar, New York-based military drone that crashed during a training flight earlier this week.
Members of the Air National Guard's Syracuse-based 174th Attack Wing searched the shoreline Wednesday but found no evidence of the unarmed MQ-9 Reaper that crashed a day earlier.
The drone took off from Fort Drum in northern New York and crashed early Tuesday afternoon about 12 miles from the lake's eastern shore and 20 miles north of Oswego.
State military officials said Tuesday that the 174th had requested help from the U.S. Air Force in finding the drone.
The company that makes the Reaper says the cost of a new drone starts at $10 million.
