Site of multiple Syracuse arsons last year catches fire again

Firefighters work at the scene on Polk Street Friday morning.

An apartment building that was intentionally set on fire multiple times last year was the scene of a fire once again Friday morning.

Firefighters were called to 123 Polk Street just after 5:00 a.m. and quickly put out a fire inside the vacant building. That address is the site of four previous fires last November, including one on the 19th that left several people homeless. That fire severely damaged the building, and authorities determined it was intentionally set.

Fire officials say Fridayâ??s fire was minor, and they are working to determine whether it was arson. No one was inside the boarded-up building at the time.
