Sno Cone Joe's ice cream truck permit pulled over accusations it harassed rival Mr. Ding-A-Ling

Officials in Gloversville, Fulton County, are freezing out an ice cream truck operator accused of stalking and harassing rival Mr. Ding-A-Ling.

They say Sno Cone Joe's permit to operate in Gloversville won't be renewed when it expires Saturday.

Deputy City Clerk Cindy Ostrander says the decision came from the mayor on the advice of police who arrested Sno Cone Joe's owners this week.

Joshua Malatino and Amanda Scott were charged after a Mr. Ding-A-Ling driver told police they followed his truck, playing music at high volume, trying to lure away customers with promises of free ice cream and yelling at one point, "This is my town!"

The Gloversville residents face charges of second-degree harassment, a violation, and fourth-degree stalking, a misdemeanor.

A call to their lawyer wasn't initially returned Friday.
